Terms of Use
Effective August 5, 2026 · Last updated August 5, 2026
1. What this is
Carpira Model Viewer is a private tool operated by Carpira Design Group ("Carpira," "we," "us") that lets you view the 3D model of your building project on a phone, tablet or computer. It is available at app.carpira.com.
By ticking the box on the sign-in screen and using the app, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Access is by invitation only. We add people to a project; there is no public sign-up.
2. Your account
You sign in with your email address. We send you a link and a 6-digit code. There is no password.
Please keep your email account secure and do not forward your sign-in link or code to anyone else. Anyone who has them can see your project. Tell us at info@carpira.com if you think someone else has used your access.
You may only open projects you have been added to.
3. What you may and may not do
You may use the app to view, explore and measure the models on the projects you have been given access to, for your own purposes relating to those projects.
You may not:
- Try to reach projects, models or accounts that are not yours.
- Copy, scrape, download in bulk, or try to extract the underlying model data or geometry from the app.
- Take apart, reverse engineer, or attempt to recreate how the app or the underlying viewing technology works.
- Use the app to build a competing product or service.
- Upload or send anything unlawful, harmful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Introduce malicious code, attack the service, or place an unreasonable load on it.
- Remove or obscure any notices, labels or trademarks shown in the app.
- Use the app for anything unlawful.
These rules are at least as strict as the acceptable use policy of Autodesk, whose technology we use to display models (see section 5).
4. Models, drawings and who owns what
The models you view belong to Carpira and to the client the project belongs to, under the terms of your separate agreement with us. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of a model to you.
Anything you type into the app is yours, and you are solely responsible for it. Today the app collects very little from you beyond your email address; if we later add notes, comments or uploads, this section covers those too — you remain responsible for what you put in.
The app itself, its design, and its software remain ours.
5. How your model is displayed — and Autodesk's role
To show a model in a web browser, the model file is converted into a format a browser can display. That conversion, and the delivery of the model to your screen, is carried out using Autodesk® Platform Services, provided by Autodesk, Inc.
This means:
- Your model file is processed on Autodesk's systems. When that happens, Autodesk handles it in line with the Autodesk Privacy Statement, available at autodesk.com.
- Autodesk may use that content (a) when you ask them to, or when you consent, including where we consent on your behalf; (b) in connection with providing and improving Autodesk's products and services, including maintaining, securing and updating them; and (c) where they need to in connection with legal obligations, enforcement, investigations or proceedings.
- We do not send your personal information to Autodesk. Model files are stored there under anonymous reference codes. Your name, your email address and your home address are not attached to them. Names and contact details stay in our own systems.
Please do not put personal information — names, contact details, account numbers or similar — into a model or a file you send us for display.
Carpira Model Viewer is our own product. It is not an Autodesk product, it is not endorsed by Autodesk, and Autodesk is not responsible for it. Autodesk and Autodesk Platform Services are trademarks of Autodesk, Inc.
6. Measurements, drawings and professional judgement
The measuring tool is for reference only. It reports distances from the 3D model as it was supplied, rounded to the nearest ⅛ inch. It is a convenience for understanding your project — it is not a survey, not a construction document, and not a substitute for professional judgement, independent verification, or the stamped drawings issued for your project.
Do not use measurements taken in this app for construction, fabrication, ordering materials, or any decision where being wrong would cost you money. Use the issued drawings, and ask us if something looks off.
The same applies to the model as a whole. A model is a design tool. It may be at an early stage, it may not show every element, and it may not reflect the most recent changes. Where the model and the issued drawings disagree, the issued drawings govern.
7. Availability
We try to keep the app working and available, but we cannot promise it always will be. We may change it, add or remove features, or take it offline for maintenance. We may also stop offering it.
The app depends on services we do not control, including Autodesk. If those are unavailable, parts of the app will not work.
8. No warranty
To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is" and "as available," and we disclaim all warranties and conditions of any kind, whether express or implied — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted or secure, that it will meet your requirements, that defects will be corrected, or that any content or measurement it displays is accurate or complete.
This same disclaimer applies to the underlying Autodesk technology used to display models.
9. Our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or costs of substitute services, arising out of or relating to your use of the app.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Your separate written agreement with Carpira governs our professional services. These Terms cover the viewing app only and do not change that agreement. If the two conflict on anything to do with our professional services, that agreement governs.
10. Ending access
You can stop using the app at any time. Tell us and we will remove your access.
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, if your project with us ends, or if we stop offering the app. Access to a project also ends when we remove you from it.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make a significant change we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California.
